The History of the CMJ Music & Film Festival

CMJ Music Marathon & Film Festival is put on by CMJ Network. CMJ Music Marathon & Film Festival 2010 is scheduled for October 19-23 and will be headquartered at New York University and other downtown NYC venues.

CMJ Music Marathon was introduced in 1980, with only a few venues around NYC as a way for industry professionals to discover new breaking artists in the college radio world. It was named after the New York City Marathon going on at the same time its first year.
