The History of Pickathon Festival

Pickathon is the original Indie-Roots Music festival. More than 35 bands on 5 stages and thousands of neighborly festival goers. Camping, hiking and a sustainability ethic situated among Oregon’s doug firs on an 80 acre wonderland just 20 minutes from Portland.

o Pickathon provides one of the best summer festival lineups of 2010. No other festival brings you the mix of indie roots music you will see at Pickathon. It is a true music lover’s paradise.

o Continuous three day weekend of music presented on 6 stages (Mt. View Stage [outdoor], Fir Meadows Stage [outdoor], Woods Stage [Solar Powered – outdoor], Starlight Stage [All Ages – Late Night – outdoor], the Galaxy Barn [indoor], and the Workshop Barn [workshops]. The indoor Galaxy Barn stage becomes a late-night (21+) venue at 9pm until 2AM.

o Pendarvis Farm provides 80 Acres of lush meadow and forested campgrounds with hiking, audience views of Mt. Hood, food and craft vendors, beer gardens, picking galore, beautiful site and stage design, fresh water, an array of shade and venue covering, and much more.

o Support Pickathon’s efforts in becoming a leader in Green music festivals through a host of initiatives that include; an alternative transportation plan (Local Mass Transit on a Bio Diesel Bus, Travel to Portland without Renting a Car, Bike Routes and Parking, and Carpool Matching), a variety of renewable energy uses, recycling, and partnering with a variety of green sponsors.

o Pickathon features several musical workshops taught by the performing artists.

o Kids under 12 are free when the family comes to Pickathon and will be greeted by a continuous array of planned kid activities and performances throughout the weekend.

o Pendarvis Farm includes classic wooded Oregon hiking trails to take a break and enjoy peace and solitude.

o If you are a beginning to advanced musician plan on bringing your instrument as plenty of other folks will be doing the same.

o Pickathon traces it genesis to Portland’s diverse Indie Roots music scene, and we are happy to report that Portland still remains a thriving creative musical mecca.
