The first announcement is in addition to the one act already revealed on Monday! On the Coca-Cola Stage just before Pretty Lights on Friday, October 5th, Mimosa will be mixing up heavy, grimy bass beats with interjections of top-40 in some crazy ways

Who’s got a little soul in them? We’re going to give you even more! Rose Royce will hit the Miller Lite/Wind Creek Stage on Sunday, October 7th and will be followed by none other than the legendary Al Green!

Our last but, oh so not least, act announcement of the night! Loverboy will rock the AT&T/Southern Ford Dealers Stage followed by Pat Benatar & Neil Giraldo and “Don’t Stop Believing,” because none other than Journey will close out the very first night of BayFest 2012!

Ready to rock? Downtown Mobile will be kickin’ it on Saturday, October 6th at the Coca-Cola Rock Stage to the sounds of The Campaign 1984, My Darkest Days and Buckcherry all leading up to the final act of the night, Bush!

Counter Point Festival 2012THE LINE UP IS HERE – COUNTERPOINT FESTIVAL 2012!

Taking advantage of Atlanta’s diverse creative arts culture, the CounterPoint Music Festival debuts this September 28 and 29, bringing Atlanta’s urban vibe and dynamic creative culture to the Festival grounds. The 8,000 acres of rolling pastures, lakes and woodlands along a 12-mile stretch of Chatahoochee River-front property will play host to multiple stages, art installations and a variety of other exciting activities.

Building on The Echo Project of previous years, CounterpPoint is a new, two-day multi-stage music and arts festival that is guaranteed to have you dancing from stage to stage all day — and well into the night.

Plus, though they will be bringing an unbelievably awesome world-class lineup to the Fest, organizers are also keeping it local by partnering with top Atlanta restaurant and food trucks, breweries, artists and more to keep you outfitted, fed and entertained. The combination of world-class music and other exciting onsite elements coupled with the scenic waterfront locale will keep you entertained and immersed in the CounterPoint experience all weekend long.

So here it is, the line up with headliners first: Bassnectar, Skrillex, Pretty Lights, AVICII, Steve Angello!

Pretty Lights, the brainchild of Colorado native Derek Vincent Smith, is electronic sound at its finest. Smith’s music includes a mix of digital sampling that spans a number of notable genres including hip-hop, funk, and soul. Add a spectacular light show to the mix and you have yourself one heck of a dance party.

Erykah Badu needs no introduction. The Dallas, Texas native and Grammy award winning singer-songwriter is best known for her stunning croon and commanding performances. Often referred to as the Queen of Neo-soul, Badu writes gorgeous, soulful songs that tackle strong social and personal themes. Badu’s music strikes the perfect balance between chillness and passion.

Fitz and The Tantrums hail from Los Angeles, California and fuse the upbeat frenzy of indie pop with the rich, relaxed M.O. of soul music. Their debut studio album, Pickin’ Up the Pieces (August 2010) reached #1 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart andRolling Stone named them a “band to watch” in April 2011.

Phantogram is an American Indie pop duo from Saratoga Springs, New York, The twosome frequently describe their sound as “street beat, psych pop”. They cite Sonic Youth, J Dilla, The Flaming Lips, David Bowie, Prince, and The Beatles as musical influences. Their song “When I’m Small” was featured in the opening episode of the MTV’s adaption of the British teen drama series Skins.

David Garza is an indie rock musician from the DFW area in Texas. His trademark voice and beautiful lyrics quickly made Garza a musical staple in the Texas music community. He has played with a number of notable musicians including Fiona Apple, Nickel Creek, Edie Brickell & New Bohemians, and Grant Lee Phillips.

R3hab – Fadil El Ghoul, is a Dutch DJ, remixer and house music producer. He creates house music that is infectious and perfect for a night of dancing. R3hab’s singles and remixes are played by such prominent producers as David Guetta, Afrojack, and Tiësto.
